We dedicate this week’s Throwback Thursday to those talented artiste who made great hits back then and are still making trending hits till now. They successfully made successful breakthroughs into the music industry years back and they are still making smashing hits today. Let’s call them “oldies but goodies” Lol sounds corny right? Anyway, below are five artistes who have been relevant for quite a long time in our music industry and are still feeding us with consistent back to back hits today;

1. D’ banj – Former signed Mo’ Hits records signee released couple of hits during his days with the label which is now called Mavin records. Some songs to remember include; Mo Gbono feli feli, Tongolo and now his Emergency, El Chapo have not stopped trending.

2. Wande coal – The black diamond as we know him is the black version of Chis Brown. You remember You bad, kiss your hand and Bumper to Bumper, damn! those were mad hits and now his Iskaba is his new gem. Wande coal sure knows how to sustain his trend. 3. 2Baba – Where do we start from in talking about Hypertek boss 2baba? The former Plantashun boiz member served us back then with smashing hits like Rain drops, For Instance, If love is a crime, Be there, one we can never forget is African Queen. Well now although he is yet to match up to African Queen, he is still repping with these; Holy Holy, Hold my hand, Unconditional love, Amplifier

4. P square – Senorita, Bizzy body, Omoge mi and now their Personally and Nobody Ugly which happened to be the last song the duo did together. Well, although currently the duo split up due to family-business challenges, we hope for a comeback as Peter Okoye gave a hint that the group might actually still reconcile. 5. Fela Kuti – Surprised that the father of Afro beats/Most truthful music Activist made it to our list this week right? This multi instrumentalist though late made so much impact in the Nigerian music industry during his lifetime and even now in his death, so much that he is imitated by artistes today. His song such as – Water no get enemy, Yeye dey smell, Zombie, Shakara, Expensive shit among others still shake the dance floor till now. Fela is without any doubt the most celebrated African Artiste.
