Kirk Franklin bagged two grammys in this just concluded 59th edition of the prestigious musical award. One in the “Best Gospel Album” Category and another in the “Best Gospel Performance” category. His album “losing my religion” was recognized as the best gospel album released in 2016, while his song with Tamela mann “God provides” was recognized as the best gospel performance. This makes it a total 12 Grammy Awards he has won dating back as far as 1997 where his jam “watch’a looking for” won the best contemporary Rnb gospel song.
Here is what Emily Yillah of premiergospel.org.uk said about this album
“Along with the likes of Mary Mary and Marvin Sapp, Kirk Franklin is one of the most recognised Gospel musicians of our time. Anybody who avidly listens to Gospel music will be aware of his phenomenal work. Kirk Franklin has been making music for over 20 years, having released his first album in 1993, and the release of his latest album Losing My Religion is enough evidence to see that his music still holds the ability to encourage those who lack faith, and strengthen those who have faith. This project is brilliant and to be honest, it might just be his best work to date.”
Kirk has really raised the bar in the gospel industry and we cannot help but rejoice with him.
